Wed Dec 2, 2020

OK, we will try Surrexen's Scarlet Dawn again. I made a few minor changes tonight and hopefully have the carrier slots for the flights labeled correctly and I made all ships to weapons free. There is a flight of 2 Tomcat's and a flight of 2 SEAD Hornet's that should start in parking hot and a flight...

Can you download and test Surrexen's Syria mission single player to see if your game still crashes? We want to know if it will at all work for you - if not I am not going to spend any time fixing it up. Maybe you can check his new Persian Gulf mission as well as that would be the next target. Scarle...

Re: IFR Flying

Yah - I did a night mission that was a transfer from one airfield to another in the SU-27 I believe. Not quite the same (low fidelity), but I still had a cloud deck at about 1000' and pitch black. Pretty satisfying to follow your flight path and the airfield pops out in front of you.

Re: Phoenix and AMRAAM Bug

seems to be that they just do not function properly - i.e. lose target when target notches and releases chaff and will not re-acquire.

Remember if a mission is too far away you can always use the Clearfield options and skip that mission.

Re: Mars

yes - there is often a lot of atmospheric disruption - there is even a scale to judge "seeing" at any particular time. I am nowhere near versed enough yet to determine any of that, but in the telescope I can see the atmospheric disturbance at times - the object seems to shimmer just like in the heat...

Re: Mars

yes - it is very prominent right now. but for using a telescope, the moon drowns it out when it is that close. moon will be full tonight, on Halloween. It is a blue moon tonight.

Re: Mars

it was not easy, i will tell you. since i am doing things on the cheap i have barebones beginner equipment. most scopes have what is called a finder scope piggybacked on the main scope. it has a wide field of view and helps to locate your object, center it and then use the main scope. i do not have ...

Mars

After we logged off last night I got the telescope and camera set up as Bones told me Mars was at its closest in a long time. Got the following pic from my session, the girls loved it. Nidia scoffs at it (she can just look up a much better picture on the internet). 21_35_26_lapl4_ap3_Drizzle15_cropp...

Wed, 10/14 - Clearfield

Continue mission, some targets will be easier to reach due to capturing Babushara and Gudauta. We have established flights out of both airfields.

I think soonish we will have Surrexen's Syria mission, or his new Snowfox.

Nice. Surrexen said he is waiting for the F-14A to be available in OB to release his new version of Snowfox.
