ACE mod for ARMA 2

Post by Hammer » 27 Mar 2010, 18:30

it is out. i suggest we use it.

http://ace.dev-heaven.net/wagn/Download

BIForums link:

http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=96371

get the six updater, install it:

http://dev-heaven.net/attachments/downl ... _setup.exe

run it per these directions for the ongoing development release (do Vanilla ACE):

http://ace.dev-heaven.net/wagn/Download ... 0the%20Mod

and it will automatically download and install the necessary mods.

once complete, then change the action in the action select box to create desktop shortcut and click execute and it will create a shortcut with the appropriate mods. you will have to modify it though - it puts @CBA at the end and it should be first in the mods list. your shortcut should look like this:

"C:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA 2\arma2.exe" -noSplash -noFilePatching -mod=@CBA;@ACE;@ACEX;@ACEX_PLA;@ACEX_SM

and if you have other command line options from vanilla ARMA2ensure you put them in as well.

also uninstall Battle Eye (via control panel)

ACE was updated today. make sure you run the six updater, select ACE Vanilla, and update and install as action, then execute. it will update the needed files.

server has been updated as well.

everyone should probably do this:

How do I add or alter my profile to ACE2?

* Find the file ace_clientside_config.hpp in the subfolder userconfig of your ArmA2 game folder ( e.g. c:\Program Files\Bohemia Interactive\ArmA2 ).
* Optionally make a backup copy for just in case situations.
* Open that file with a text editor, notepad works fine.
* Locate the Identity section.
* Change the value of the name field to match your player name.
* The final result should look like this....

class Identity
{
name="Darth Bobo";
};

* Save that file
* Close the profile file and restart ArmA2. You should now be able to change masks and goggles during a mission.

there is an update needed, but then updater must be updated first as well.

get it here:

http://dev-heaven.net/attachments/downl ... _setup.exe

you must uninstall the current six updater first, then install the new one.

if you do not do this you will have issues when opening the updater to update the game.

and the mod itself needs to be updated as well, so once you get the new updater installed then update the mod as well.
