Jumping Puzzles and other Fun Stuff

Post by Tach Deneva » 04 Nov 2012, 19:15

Heya BH! Here's a video that <bleep!> Dark Reverie jumping puzzle that was giving us such a bad time. Probably would never have thought of aiming for that small limb at that spot where I kept falling. Heh, will try again later.

Heh, no, that's just one of the regular (that is to say, diabolical) jumping puzzles. It's in Caledon Forest, inside the Dreamdark Enclave, an area that can only be reached via the Morgan's Spiral jumping puzzle or through a gate that can only be opened by someone inside. If you fall off and die while attempting Dark Reverie (and there's no one there to revive you) you'll have to redo Morgan's Spiral to get back to it.

Here's Morgan's Spiral.

Yay, managed to complete Dark Reverie, with the help of a player I met while attempting the Secret Garden/Deirdre's Steps jumping puzzle in Mount Maelstrom. Having a jumping partner on this one means you don't (always) have to start all over again if you miss a jump (and go splat).

So, I soloed Tixx's Infinarium tonight with my level 80 Thief. Took a long time. Lots of zerging. After the second piece of armor broke, I unequipped everything and my thief fought on in her undies.

1. Brought presents to the princess doll - took some away from the skritt. They weren't quite so tough against my level 80 thief.

2. Spray painted the unpainted princess dolls.

3. Defended the toy ventari from the princess dolls. Lots and lots of princess dolls.

4. Took out a bunch of mortars guarded by toy soldiers. Lots and lots of toy soldiers.

5. Fought through 8 waves of toy soldiers. At one point, there were at least two waves active. Whittled each group down, sometimes two or three at a time if my skills were all recharged and nothing went amiss, but mostly just one at a time and often none at a time.

6. Cleared plush griffon nests from an area, then tried to fight off continual respawns again and again and again and again unsuccessfully until finally I re-equipped the armor and used an instant repair canister thing, which made a big difference and allowed me to at long last secure the area.

7. Then had to fight (as I'd expected) the big golem, Toxx. Had it almost dead... and it turned, ran off, and regenerated back to full health. Kept fighting, finally defeated the thing.

Yay, me.

Dungeon rewards: I got some materials to make a Plush Griffon minipet - but not enough to make the damn thing! And from the end chest... two green items (one of which is not useable by my Thief) and three ugly wool sweaters.

Yeah. Happy freakin' Wintersday, Anet. Way to embrace the spirit of the season.
