Post by Ghost » 13 Oct 2010, 17:33

Ok the Star Trek mod is back. There are 5 races you can play.
Here is the link

I am playing as the Federation right now and so far I like it. I have not played as the other races yet. But I have seen them flying around the map. The playable races are,

The United Federation of Planets
The Klingon Empire
The Romulan Star Empire
The Dominion
(with Cardassian battle thralls, and Breen allies)
The Borg Collective.
anyone want to try it out on Friday? Would like to hear everyone's feedback on this.

This is a more drect link. http://forums.sinsofasolarempire.com/371686

The download is 400 mb. Myself and softball played a little bit last night. I tried the Romulans and Borg. Modeling looks good, I liked both races. Borg has regeneration. There is also a patch SOA2.4.5E make sure that you install that. You will also need the 7 zip zip program to open and unzip the files. It is also on the link page. PDT_Armataz_01_37

I was able to use WinRAR to unzip the files.

The first game we played, within 5 minutes I had a Borg flagship camping my homeworld. 15 minutes later I was wiped out. I think the Borg regeneration is a bit overpowered... Next game I played as Klingons, much better game for me. This mod is pretty decent, but I'm keeping my eye out for balance issues like the last version had.

When I played the Star Trek Armada games, the Borg were balanced out by giving them much longer contruction times for their ships and their ships also required more resources to build.
