EUROPE (April 2007) – G2 Games have today released new details about Enemy Engaged 2 - sequel to the best selling chopper classic - Enemy Engaged: RAH-66 Comanche Versus Ka-52 Hokum.

The publisher has today confirmed that the finished game will feature Voice Control elements that use a microphone attached to the PC. Enemy Engaged 2 players will be able to issue vocal commands to their AI wingmen during combat missions. The commands will include setting up defensive or offensive flight formations, attacking or defending targets, heading to waypoints and many more. Using voice control in the missions will add a whole new dimension to the experience of Enemy Engaged 2 and a level of interactivity second to none for a flight simulation.

G2 have also confirmed that Enemy Engaged 2 will also support TrackIR software technology and hardware. The ingame support aims to feature cockpit and gunnery control through player head motion when interacting with the TrackIR hardware. This is yet another feature of the game that will immerse pilots even further into the Enemy Engaged 2 experience!

Testing of Enemy Engaged 2 multiplayer servers for the game is now nearing completion. Players will be able to participate in up to 16 player online matches when the game goes live. Partners for server hosting have been arranged prior to the game launch to ensure that anyone who wishes to play the game online will have a smooth, lag-free and enjoyable experience.

And finally, the official Enemy Engaged 2 website, www.eech2.com has gone live. The site now features all the latest game news, media, screenshots and downloads. G2 will be updating the site on an ongoing basis in the run up until launch in May. Since the sneak preview site was launched in January – the site has had more than 450,000 unique visitors seeking to find out more about the game.

I have read on some of the EECH2 forums that it will be released April 27th, 2007, for $19.99 in the US. We'll see if that holds true.

$19.99??? That has to be a typo, or are they going the mass market route but how can they sell that game for that price with the Voice command feature alone they are adding? The e-mail which I posted said something to the effect of a launch date of May but April 27th is just like saying May.

I did a search at GoGamer and the International version is shipping April 18th for $39.90 with no mention of a US ship date. Here is the link: GoGamer

There is going to be a European release and a US release from what I can gather. The UK release is scheduled for 4/27/07 and the US release will be Q2 2007.

Don't believe everything you see at Gogamer.com. I ordered a game from them back on March 9th, 2007 for $19.90, and I haven't received it as of April 12th, 2007. Although they have the same game available for the regular price of $29.90, ready to ship in 24 hours...?

I sent them an inquiry today, to hopefully jog their memory. Haha.

I may wait for the US release on EECH2.

I'll play. I've wanted a good helicopter sim since janes longbow games... maybe it can fill the bill; but looks like it's gonna be too arcade... I used to play 100% realistic in the janes games, freakishly low to the ground. It was enjoyable.

Actually EECH was a pretty decent sim, not arcade. Steel and myself played EECH + Mods about 6 or so months ago and it was pretty good.

why would he be kidding you?

EECH is not arcade. some folks that are fanboiz said it was because it did not have the features of Longbow. the Longbow fanboiz said the same thing about Gunship!

If you can find a copy of EECH DA, snag it up. It's worth the $$ IMO. You just have to make sure you get it updated with the most recent mods, patch, etc...

I was looking on my HD last night and realized that I do not have EECH installed on my new computer. So I may go through the process of reinstalling it again(After I find the CDs for AH/CH, just to get a refresher before EECH2 comes out.

Wanna give EECH another go Steel?

If you do, with all the latest mods, can you UL the directory to the server here again so we can standardize the mods? My install is only at 1.6.4 or something and I think I'm missing some mods...

I could swear we had a Zipped install somewhere. I remember Steel doing it when we last played.
