The website says it is available and if it is $20 bucks then I will be buying this one ASAP!

I take this all back its launching in Europe probably MAy 25th and its around 45 bucks US. They don't even give a US launch date just a pre-order date. Since when have we come last huh, I know more often than not. Just like dayum cell phones, always atleast two years behind.

I pre-ordered this today. I figure it will at least be as good as the first one, so what the heck, I placed my pre-order.

Read at SIMHQ that EECH2 has gone "Gold".

Gogamer.com says it ships on 5/25/07, we'll soon find out.

Early reports are NOT good.
Bugs galore, graphics enhancements not what people hoped for, omission of many things EECH already has with mods...
All over SimHQ people are saying "back to EECH 1.8.2..."

Ugh oh, not what I wanted to hear.

I have not received an email saying it has shipped, hmmmm?

Good thing I have EECH installed and patched up. :)

Hmmm, after reading all the bad things about EECH2 over at SIMHQ, I am going to try and cancel my pre-order. I have not received an email saying it was shipped, so I may have time to cancel it. I'll wait until they fix it before I get it.

the question I ask (and I haven't read any of the criticism): Is it truly crappy or is it just forum-fanboy-crappy. We all know how people on forums like to rant and flame.

I cancelled my pre-order (web site says it ships June 4th), so hopefully I get my cancellation through before the ship date (Takes 3-5 days to cancel an order, lame). I'll wait for a demo for this one. Besides, EECH1 is pretty good with the mods.

Well, apparently things that worked before (cockpit lights for some things) now do not.
Many are unhappy with the graphic upgrade "look".
There are many many reported bugs.
This definitely needs a patch. Whether that would then make the game "a matter of taste" is not known.
It's based on the 1.6.1 mod, while in the past 2 years the original game is up to 1.8.x, so many new features of the current modded game are absent. Like F4:AF's situation, except more severe.

Did you see the time of day bug? With the time of day in game being 00:45 (after midnight) and on the screen it is daylight? Lol!

there's no excuse for releasing an older-than-current version of a game that is curently available as a sequel ... it should at least be as good as the current.

At least with Falcon AF, we got an improvement in installability and stability.

Apparently stability is largely absent from this version.
Their excuse was when they started developing they took the 1.6.x version and went on from there. They then spent time on the graphics and such. Simultaneously the modders moved to 1.8.x adding features and realism while the graphics pretty much reached their max at 1.6.x for their version.

To sort of summarize, modded EECH now is like F4:AF at release, dated graphics but stable and lots of features and realism, while EE2 is like F4 was at release...ok graphics for the times, unstable, buggy, but with that apparent potential.
