Anyone want to do any gaming tonight?

I'd be up for any of the following,

Borderlands 2
Sins of a Solar Empire
Rise of Flight

Will you be around Softball?

After my pitiful performance in Sins on Friday night, I've been practicing with the Advent vs TEC 1v1 on Easy and I have to say, this game is not what it used to be. The AI was hitting me with this mega cannon that neutralizes ownership of a planet or asteroid and basically kills your economy. The AI had two of these cannons and the only way for me to defend against it was to attack nearby planets and take out the AIs Military Labs/buildings to prevent the cannons from firing/being used. I was finally able to stop the attacks, but my economy was shot to hell.

At one point, I was losing credits; it was overwhelming. I wasn't being actively attacked by the AI at the time, so I was able to speed up the time to 4x so I didn't have to sit out the painfully slow resource accrual and rebuilding.

I tried to attack the AIs home planet, but he had 4-5 cap ships, a Starbase, and multiple ships. I lost my entire fleet (60+ ships) and my Titan warship. The rebuilding process is extremely slow, due to the hit on my economy. I'm still learning this new Sins, and playing the Advent is completely foreign to me. I've almost always played as the Vesari, so it's a bit of a learning curve.

I feel your pain a bit. The Vesari Loyalists are new to me as well. I only played them once before and had similar results. I guess you need to be a little more discerning when it comes to which fights your going to pick, if your fleet is going to be your home...

I've played Rebellion enough by now to know for a fact that the enemy AI has been significantly ramped up compared to previous versions of Sins. I'd like to make a suggestion for the next time we get together and play Sins to limit the enemy AI to "normal" difficulty. At least for now until everyone gets up to speed.

Maybe one hard one. I like a challenge ;)

But yes, without us knowing what we're doing and moving as fast as we should it gets ugly fast. The AI moves with a mission now and doesn't languish.
