I'm free any day this week except today to fly. Just let me know which days are good for you.

Can't... I tried to do a Windows Update to get Windows 8.1 Update 1 and it blew up my PC. I have windows reinstalled, TIR, Fraps, but still working on the games themselves... along with a few other things installed. IL2:BOS is finished but DCS, Steam Games (Arma 3, Rocksmith stuff mostly) and ROF are still going with them slow selves, so I'm just going to get it sorted and ready so I can relax with it tonight and be ready for next week.

Stupid Microsoft.

Holy cow. How exactly did that happen? The update 1 corrupted your Windows install or something?

ya, it refused to install it or any updates afterward. I reattempted the install many times and it refused to go eventually corrupting the catalogue store that I guess is used for figuring out what's installed. Eventually I just backed up my user files and bit the bullet on a reinstall, figuring I'd have to sooner or later anyway, since apparently all updates going forward will require this update. From what I've read it's been a problematic update for many people. I was reading stories from today that it was pulled from Enterprise customers because it will flat out kill updates if you have WSUS configured in a certain way (HTTPS enabled without TLS 1.2 or something along those lines anyway). Though that scenario doesn't apply to me it did me no better. The only plus to it is that when I reinstalled WIndows 8 and downloaded/installed Windows 8.1 the Update 1 was installed with it, so I didn't have to reattempt that fiasco...

I'm making good progress with getting everything reinstalled, at least. I have Arma 3, Rocksmith, RoF, and IL2:BOS installed. The only stupidity I've discovered at this point is that the ROF/IL2:BOS configs are stored in the Program Files directory that I did not back up, because ZOMGWTFBBQ is this 1992, we don't put configs in sane places yet? So I'll have to redo them and finish getting DCS and DCS Open Beta installed, but other than that it's been quiet and painless.

By the way I have conspired with others to get Grifter a PC from this century pulling together spare parts. I also have an old HOTAS to give him, so it is possible we will see him on some Wednesday sometime to fly. Maybe an occasional Friday too.

Think Grifter is going to be on tomorrow. If you want I can put up the map with the static targets so he can attempt to blow shit up with labels and without things firing back to start. Thursday also may be a possibility, but not quite ready to commit. might know tonight or tomorrow.
