Star Wars Squadrons
Who will be buying this besides me and Jedi? I am quite anxious to try this out online and see what it's like.

Re: Star Wars Squadrons
If you played the old X Wing/TIE Fighter games, it's pretty much just like that.
You have missiles/torps/bombs and lasers, you shift your recharge rate to prioritize shields, guns, or engines, or balance them out.
It's certainly not DCS: TIE.

Concur with Jedi. If you enjoyed the 90's SW space games then this is no different when it comes to "realism".

I will have to look at the previews again then - Grifter and I both looked at it previously. The question is how much? When is it due out?

The game came out October 2nd. I’ve put in about 5 hours so far and I’ve enjoyed it.

Most of the focus of the game is actually MP. It has both Coop and head to head modes. The single player campaign is only 10 missions!

Pass. A proper star wars flight sim game should be as realistic as others in that genre. I think this one is. But, it should also have an awesome single player campaign. this one does not.

Re: Star Wars Squadrons
It's possible that a future DLC might introduce more single-player campaigns but I honestly doubt it. For someone looking for a purely single player space sim experience they are better off with Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen.
The single player campaign in Squadrons is really well done with a pretty compelling story. The huge flaw is that it's just so short.

Right. I think I would dig Elite Dangerous....assuming I had the time. I'm so busy right now there is just no way.

XWA cost $50 21 years ago. That is $78 in today's money.
SWS costs $40 today, plays about the same but is shorter in the SP area.
I'd say that half the cost for half the content is about right.

Finished the SP campaign recently and I really enjoyed it. Now I'm looking forward to trying some of the online coop battles vs. AI. Anyone here interested in doing that besides Jedi?

There's a good chance it might go on sale for the Steam holiday sale. It will probably only be like 25% though since it is a recent release.
