Re: AV-8B cockpit build
I finally started laser cutting some panels from acrylic. Each panel requires 3 separate plates. The bottom plate has additional 3mm holes in it to take little LED lights for the backlighting. The middle layer has these same holes, but also has wider holes for each switch and knob so that they can a...

FreeCAD 1.0.0 rc1
This is neat. So all of the CAD (computer aided design) I have been doing for my Harrier cockpit has been in the free and open source tool called FreeCAD, which has been around for like 22 years. They just released their 1.0 version (1.0.0 release candidate 1) yesterday. Why am I telling you this? B...

Re: I won't be on 9/11
It's an offshoot of what used to be called Indian Princesses (for dads and their daughters) or Indian Guides (dad's and their sons) normally associated with the YMCA something like 80 years ago. My specific organization is Big Waters Federation, and we split off from the YMCA back in the '80's, but ...

I won't be on 9/11
Unfortunately I have to attend a Chief's meeting as the Nation Elder on Wednesday (to make sure new Nation Chief doesn't forget anything), and so I won't be on. Drop a few warheads on foreheads for me!

Re: AV-8B cockpit build
The UFC is starting to come together. The parts shown here equate to more than 120 hours of 3d printing time! part 1 - 40 hours part 2 - 30 hours part 3 - 20 hours part 4 - 16 hours part 5 - 9 hours display parts - ??? Still need to print the keys, knobs, and laser cut the panels. And design and pri...

Yes, quite interesting to see that this was taken out of context on purpose to make you think he was lying. He was actually talking about being there while he was visting as a congressman. This has been thoroughly debunked, but it keeps being spread to make people think he is lying. This is literall...

Re: AV-8B cockpit build
I would love to build a collective for helicopters. It really isn't very hard (well, maybe for me!) The key I think is to have a solid, heavy base that is on the floor, and a strong friction adjustment. I might try to design one that can be built without too much trouble.

Flight planning
I don't know if you guys knows this already or have already discussed it, but a few patches ago they added the ability for you to create / override your flight plan before you spawn in multiplayer. I think they introduced it at the same time they changed the spawn screen. One of the reasons they now...

Re: AV-8B cockpit build
The Harrier throttle (the guy making them is calling this the HSI Mk.1) is coming along. He's supposed to be delivering the first 3 finished throttles to his first customers in the next month. Mine will be somewhere in mid-to-late Fall. I'm #22 on the list. I'm a bit nervous because I still don't kn...

Thanks for the advice on updating my BIOS on my Asus TUF Gaming Z790-Pro Wifi. I checked last night after I got off, and there was indeed a new bios that been released a few days prior. Last night it showed up as "BETA". I didn't install it last night, planning to take a look this morning....

Re: Real Mi-24 Hind
That's awesome, Bones! I love Evil Dead (Ash / Bruce Campbell). This summer I introduced my 14 year daughter to both Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness. She enjoyed them. My brother and I would dress up for the Faire... we'd kind of go as Musketeers. I have a real Spanish Rapier that I'd bring, and my...

Re: Real Mi-24 Hind
Yes, the Bristol Renaissance Faire used to be called King Richard's Faire, which my brother and I still refer to as "King Dick's Faire". I have not been in years but have been several times, both before and after the name change. I did not notice the fabric covering on Hind. It was hot out...

Re: Razbam/ED Feud
By the way, although the owner of ED is Nick Grey, who is based in the UK, the company is registered in Switzerland. I have heard that the Switzerland address is not much more than a mailing address. ED sub-contracts out all of the engine and ED - produced module development to a Russian company. Th...

Re: Razbam/ED Feud
I know a several of the Razbam devs. They say it's squarely ED. The IP infringement claim by ED is a fabrication by ED according to Razbam. They were not being paid for 6 months with no indication why and no explanation. When Razbam went public, Heatblur was supposed to go public at the same time, b...

Re: Razbam/ED Feud
Latest update: Still no talks between ED and Razbam, and yesterday, ED removed Razbam's access from all SDK and DCS tools. They also revoked their dev licenses to their own planes, which means that Razbam employees lost the ability to even fly their own planes that they designed unless they buy them...

I will have to keep an ear out! I am currently sitting on my sister's deck in Hamilton, Ohio (suburb of Cincinnati) and I can hear the destruction derby going on at the Butler County Fair. I was there last night with my brother-in-law, hisbson, and my 5 year old son. Great people watching!
