MWO Question

Post by Warcry »

Hi all. I found the system requirements for MWO as shown below.
Has anyone tried running the game on a Windows 8 machine? I'm trying to decide between a Win7 or a Win8 PC. Thanks in advance for your input.

MechWarrior Online minimum requirements:
CPU: Core 2 Duo E6750 2.66GHz / Athlon II X2 245e
GPU: GeForce 8800GT / Radeon HD 5600/5700
RAM: 4 GB
OS: Windows XP 32-bit SP3
DirectX: DX9
HDD Space: 8 GB
We're aware the game will run on some systems that are running on lower end specs but we can only offer minimal support in this situation.

MechWarrior Online Recommended System Spec:
CPU: Core i3-2500 / AMD Athlon II X4 650
GPU:GeForce GTX 285 / Radeon HD 5830
RAM: 8 GB
OS: Windows 7 SP-1 64-Bit
DirectX: DX9
HDD Space: 8 GB

to be honest windows 8 has not been very popular from what I have seen. Its meant to be a split os between tablet and pc. And It seams to be failing overall. I would stick with windows 7 myself.

I will note windows 8.1 did fix many things but so far what I have seen makes me sick at how bad it is

I would also recommend to stick with Win7.

Win8 looks like they threw out there entire design team. Win 8.1 looks like they went back to that team and said hey .. what can we do to make the PC guys happy and then took that with a grain of salt and made SOME changes which smoothed a few things over. You can get 8.1 to run really close to 7, but it's still not 7.

If you want to avoid some frustration just stick with 7. If you must go to 8, make sure it's 8.1 and be prepared to make some OS tweaks.
