Live Web Cam program info

Well I am definitely geek, but hey figure this could be fun. I must have at least 3 web cams if not more. I am not planning on wiring up the house but at least when I am gone, setting up the one web cam to look at the dog pen, to see what he dose when I am not there. I am interested in rough idea of how much time he sleeps in the day and if he is doing much play and such in the pen. But for this, I need some sort of program that will broadcast the web cam signal, and that I can connect to remotely. I have seen some that host a small web site that you can connect to via ip address, and password. So through web browser, you can see the web cam. Dose anyone know of any programs, specificly FREE ones, or worst case, one that fell off the truck.
