Last Tomcat Fly-In

I was looking up a photo for Grifter that I took while at NAS Oceana during the very last F-14 homecoming before she was retired in 2006. While digging up the photo, I came across some Quicktime video I had filmed of it. So, the resolution is not so great being 2006 but it's history nonetheless. Imagine a formation flight of 22 F-14s flying over you. That's 44 GE F110 engines over you head at the same time!



It was a sight and left this inescapable feeling in my heart to be there and see it happen.

Then the formation came back and broke into sections, each going into the break to land:





Then taxiing in toward you. Just the thought that this would never ever be seen again like this is saddening even until today.
