Hammer and I Meet!

Post by Bones »

On Memorial Day, in San Diego, Hammer's family met with my family for a lunch and a walk by the harbor. It was great to actually meet Hammer, and he and his family were very nice and friendly, as well as hospitable.

It was only for a few hours, but it was a great time and well-appreciated!

Until next time Hammer, hopefully sooner rather than later!

Nice picture! I am going to guess your trip included a visit to the USS Midway?

And where she chases him to their first kiss:

One other thing I wanted to do there was play the actual same piano that Goose played "Great Balls of Fire" on in "Top Gun."

I found the bar it was filmed in, and the same piano was there. Scratched it off my list! The piano was 80 some years old, horribly out of tune, had broken keys, and even survived a fire. But because of all that, it sounded terrible. So I didn't play the whole thing. But here it is, I'm even wearing the same shirt Goose wore, haha!

Thanks!

Aboard the USS Midway, I started up the F-14's radar, set the waypoint, and fired a Phoenix, haha:
