Hello everyone

Post by Hammer_other »

Just registered, and sent my form off to Katana. I wanted to introduce myself to the "crew". On the basis I'm a student, and I go to a boarding school, I won't be able to fly that often. However, after a lot of campaigning, I might be able to get a special stand-alone computer (the school is on a network) for flight simming. Until that happens, I'm restricted to flying in the holidays, which is about every 6 weeks. I'll be able to fly virtually every night then. In the meantime, I'm restricted to 1 evening a week, generally Saturday.

Hammer, welcome. I am currently in Camberley Surrey, and probably the closest member to you at the moment. I currently play G-R, RvS, and now that I am on broadband I'll be getting up to speed with LO-MAC & Falcon 4 SP4 - Nemisis is the F4 guru on air tactics and I was getting some tuition, but had to start packing everything to move to UK from Canada(I'd prety much gone native out there as they say - play hockey, and that sort of thing - we are emmigrating out there again, in a few years) so it was all interrupted as such - can't wait to get back to that again.

Nemesis,

You do F4 air tactics? Great, I need some practice (well, actually a lot). I can lock on to targets, but my missiles never seem to hit. I have very little F4 experience, so that's probably why. Jane's USAF is probably my best sim. I do do DISH as well, but I understand it's not stable in MP. Are we using SP4 in F4, or is SP3 still the upgrade of choice?

I was wondering, does Softball do GR training, only I have that as well, but am not all that good at it. Could we possibly hook up for some lessons?

GR

Post by Softball »

Yes, I have GR installed still, but we rarely play it.

I am guessing that if we plan a night, we can all hook up and play GR. You will need GR, Desert Seige, Island Thunder, and the latest patch installed to play GR. We used to play GR on Thursdays and sometimes Saturdays, but I think we are all on tight schedules or something, cause we never seem to hook up for it.

Hammer,
Welcome!

If you have specific F4 questions, post them in that forum and Nemesys will respond there. For the moment we have accepted SP4. We have not flown Falcon online in quite a long while.

Most of the online modern flight simming has been LOMAC

Most of the online modern tactical simming has been Raven Shield and Athena Sword.

Some OFP has been played - it is spotty.

I like to fly IL2: Forgotten Battles...but moist folks in the unti are into the more modern simms. Chowda also like FB, and Madrus will play anything that anyone esle is playing...for the most part.

Most of our playing is centralized around the US time zones, but you UK folks could also hook up - especially with Kodiak as he likes GR a lot.

Have fun, see you around.

Panzer and I both have Il-2:FB as well, but we don't play it all that much. Recently started an online campaign that came with the AEP, though...looks promising, although there are only 4 of them. :(

It looks like I have all the oldies then! I do have fully patched GR, but not IT or DS. Don't have LO-MAC either, but I'm trying to find it somewhere. F4 isn't a problem though.

Sorry for the delay in responding! Had a few headaches with the new PC!

But all fixed now and running smooth!

Firstly, welcome Hammer always glad to see new members joining up!

As for Falcon 4 as Steel says we are now running SP4 as standard (full install procedeure in the Falcon 4 Forum).

Any A/A Training you require give me shout and i'll be more than willing to assist.

Will take me another day or 2 to get my system fully installed with everything and tested, but all is going well so far.

See you in the virtual skies soon Hammer! enjoy.

I've been having PC headaches as well, I rebuilt it only about a month ago. Once I've got F4 sorted out (I needed to uninstall it to get SP4), I'll give you a shout.

What sims do you fly? I ust want to make sure. I got LOMAC and IL2 today, I'll get the F4 disc in a couple of days, and I have USAF and FS2002 Pro already. Plus ICQ and RW.

LOMAC, Il-2 and F4 are the ones around here.
Not much of any have actually been flown lately, however.

Well i can safely say that flying Lomac and Falcon (and IL2 original not FB) are now back on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesday for me.

So anyone wanting to fly these sims on those days just post on the available pilots/flights section as normal and i will be there with knobs on!!

"Hu hu hu Beavis he said knobs, Hu hu hu"

And also maybe OFP on Fridays as well.

Like oh, I dunno, say........ A BLIMP!!!! Yeah, with the right overcast, blimps look like clouds. God, I'm stupid. But, in my own defense, I'm a pretty good dogfighter.

Kat,

Don't mean to nag, but if I could get my induction email soon, I'd be quite happy.
