hey guys.

so this is my first video. its more of a test then anything. looks like i need to convert it better, the quality dropped quite a lot.

this video starts out with how i setup the Origin 300i trainer ship. i wanted to try 3 of the fast firing CF-007 Bulldog Repeaters.

i removed the gimbled weapon mount in the nose, because with joystick play i dont need them. i didnt have to remove it, but i just wanted to show you all that you can do it if you choose.

for a test video, there are a lot of aspects shown that i really wanted to touch on.

1) the level of control i have with my joystick setup currently.
2) the usefulness of learning to fly around in the asteroid and debris fields.
3) the use of throttle to stay behind your target.
4) the use of the booster to avoid objects and to help insure you reduce drifting for better control.
5) there is a great example in this video showing what can happen when you hit debris you blow off an enemy ship. lol :)
6) what happens after after your ship starts taking damage. you will see, that i start having a lot harder time staying on target and avoiding things.
7) at the end, you will see the HAZARD of flying around asteroids and debris fields. :?

(note: i realized after watching this. i seem to have a very aggressive play style. do you guys think this is a benefit or a hindrance?)

here is the vid. let me know what you guys think!

well you have to get a video compression tool. i used the Divx thing. there are others though. once you get it compressed. you create a youtube account, then you simply upload it.

im not expert at this stuff though. so if someone reads this with more experience, please add your input! :)

I use Fraps for recording from games. It's a screenshot/video recorder. It's a bit expensive for what it is, however I believe it is a perpetual license, so you get any updates in the future (not that I think there have been any since I bought it), and it has a couple nice features, like letting you choose to capture mic input or not. A possible free alternative if you have an NVIDIA card is ShadowPlay. You can enable it in the GeForce Experience app in the right corner. It looks like you can manually enable/disable recording with Alt+F9 and similarly capture mic input or not. I have not used it so can't say how it works compared to Fraps (I have had Fraps since long before shadow play existed, so have just stuck with what I know for now).

Free: HandBrake will compress to mp4 for free. Much easier to upload to Youtube that way.

Free: I think WIndows Movie Maker is part of Windows Live Essentials. I haven't done much editing, but that may work.
