some ship information and top speeds.

Post by BlackHawk*K »

all this information is subject to change due to new builds/patches/balances.

at this point, i dont have any information on different shields ships have. and i dont believe that have added different ship armor in AC yet.

this is the information i could scrape up at this time about ship speeds. thought it might be helpful to compile a data base here.

i will update and add to this as more info is gathered.

( white is assumed and unverified at this time, green is verified from experience and/ or videos on youtube.)

ship top speed.

well first, i think your asking about the Mustang Omega that we received from the codes, correct?

the Mustang Omega is now flyable in the Arena commander.

the Mustang Omega is a Racing variant. almost exactly like the Mustang Gamma. ( but i believe it has a extra fuel scoop on the bottom. no word yet if that is just for show or effective in game.) it believe in the PU it will only support the 2 wing weapons. but it has a very fast speed so far. so it might make a good in system transport ship. ( just you only, no freight) or, with added equipment, it could be used for an advanced scout. its really hard to say, because they havnt pinned down exactly how everything is going to work yet.

another option right this second is to do a ship upgrade to a Mustang Gamma (https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pled ... Gamma-Swap) then, if you want to you can cross chassis upgrade to a Delta (the combat oriented Mustang.) for $10 ( https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pled ... ta-Upgrade) or you can CCU to a Avenger for $5 (https://robertsspaceindustries.com/pled ... er-Upgrade)

now for myself, i have 3 mustangs...
i have a Alpha, the Delta and the Omega.

the Alpha, i picked up a Aurora MR package for $20 during the thanksgiving sale. then the CCU from a Aurora MR to Mustang Alpha was free ( still is.)
the Omega, i got from a code.
i originally had a Aurora LN, i melted that ship and paid the difference for the Delta.

i am keeping my omega due to the fact i dont know what is going to happen yet. but if you play the AC very much. it might be worth it to upgrade it to the Mustang Delta. the Delta is a very decent fighter for what it is. at this time, it can hold 4 size 2 weapons. 2 on the wings and 2 on a turret under the front. plus, it is the only ship in game with dumb fire rocket launchers. it has 2 of these, 1 under each wing. each holds 18 shots. the benefit is to this, is that they are much like SRMs in MWO. they fly undetected and do massive damage if you get a hit. the downfall is, you have to practice to hit shit with them :P i think of them as a slow ballistic weapon. that mindset seems to help me more for some reason.

there are a ton of videos on youtube.com that cover the Mustang Delta and peoples options about them.

i posted one myself of some in-game play of mine. ( you can view it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq7541EG7m4) please forgive the teamspeak stuff. i am not sure why it was picking up TS. maybe i missed a setting or something.

i hope this helped slam!

Thanks BH it does....I would hope that they would start getting the other ships flying like my Connie not in combat but free flight so I can get used to the control interface and all of the sub systems that I would have to use to insure I get my money out of her....ie..sensors and jump mapping....or getting u to fly ...hammer to navigate, Bron or Bazooka to run the senor suite and me the captain. we would be famous , loot, artifacts and jump points to be named after us....

no definite date on when the Connie is going to flight ready. but i am guessing when AC goes to 2.0. AC 2.0 is going to be when they open up the multi-crew ships. no pinned down date on that one, but u suspect the second part of this year.

the First person shooter module should be released sometime in march. then closely followed by the Planet side module (EDIT: i guess the Planet side module is now known as the Social module.) it sounds like a lot of cool stuff will be coming out this year.

I decided to add to my contribution to this game by getting a Hull B ship: I noticed you can add things other than cargo pods :)

Congrats Bron

definitely an interesting concept of ship.

most of the times in these type of games ive never been a huge Hauler ( in your case, HULLer?) sort of guy. more exploration or fighting maybe. but with that being said. this definitely looks like the ship for the job... now they just need to release the 'Mother Trucker' decals for your ship :P

Hauling cargo, or other things, can be very lucrative for the start of the game when you want to bank cash asap.

However, after that, I'm thinking I can rig this thing up bristling with weapons and other nasty surprises like ECM or rockets or mines out the wazo, as I fly support to your cruiser.
The thing that sold me though, was the lifetime insurance.

(Off topoic) Twips tales making progress!

yea your probably right. and in EU regulated space, it should be fairly safe as well.

however, i dont have a cruiser LOL. but i have things that can escort if need be.

i havnt been on much this weekend. have had some huge insomnia fits recently. last night i couldnt sleep till about 5 am this morning. uhg...
however i have been playing a lot of co-op Vandull swarm. its been a lot of fun. i rented the super hornet and use all omniski 6 and 2 3's on the front. they call it the green hornet build and it can kick some ass :P

the REC thing is cool. you can rent things you dont own to try them out.

if your on, i can always use a wingman ;)

I'm still in the middle of the big MOVE back to Massachusetts. All of our worldly goods ,including my computer, furniture and such are due to arrive tomorrow the 30th. Give us a week or two to get things put away and I'll be on more. Right now I'm just on the laptop.

well i know we have some race ships. mustang omegas. ( equipped up they could be and interesting scout?)

there are a few Connies. Bron has the Hornet ghost i know of. we have a few avengers. i have a Cutlass Blue, mustang Delta that is unique to the group as far as i know of. Zinlu and i both have the 315p ship for exploration. of course Bron's new Hull B. :)

the main problem i am seeing right now. is sort of the same thing happened with MWO. we all have things going on. so our activity is rather different then most groups. so its hard to know who will actually become active in the group to be able to get a real list of a fleet. its just something that only time will be able to tell. because of that, ive kind of shied away from the large multiplayer ships and kind of stuck with single or 2 person ships.

i will probably hit 'space crack' mode when this thing comes out LOL. im kind of bad at it now even though its only in alpha.

to be honest. i have hooked up with some of the N71 guys who showed interest playing SC recently. there is not a lot of us. so far i know of 3 who played over there. i think it would be cool if we could scrap up a 4 man squad to learn to fly together and kick some Vandull ass. maybe even go into some squad vs squad action.

there is just not a lot to do in this game right now. control/HOTAS setup is somewhat workable but still pretty borked. they cannot even do simple things like tell you what device you are trying to import a map into - they all say joystick whether it is your pedals, throttle, or joystick.
