OK, I think we need some additional planning, perhaps practice.

FRAGO-06201022-1
Airfield strike Bandar Abbas and Havadarya

Phase 1 to commence at 1800 Pacific, 6/1/2022 on RLG DCS Server, comms via ts.rlgaming.com teamspeak3 server
Phase 1 will consist of Air Superiority, DEAD, possibly Recon
Phase 2 will strike the airfield targets based upon recon data from phase 1

Commanders' intent is to reduce SAM/AAA to allow for detailed reconnaissance of Bandar Abbas (primary) and Havadarya (secondary) from the air to allow follow on strikes at these airfields. Reducing the operational capability of these airfields will cripple the enemy's air capability.

DEAD: Voodoo will draw out and engage enemy SAM installations in the Bandar Abbas area. Anti-radiation missiles and laser designated munitions are to be used. Close in self protect AA armament. Escort to be provided by Ares. Suggest Xpendable with pre-planned JDAM's (the Harrier can carry a lot)(if accepted I will set up the targets).

ESCORT/CAP: Ares primary mission to escort and protect Voodoo and follow on Blackbird. Maximal A2A loadout. Engage and destroy all enemy aircraft within 40 miles of Bandar Abbas and havadarya. Minimal 4 airframes, 2 flights.

RECON: Blackbird: once DEAD mission has reduced the SA-15 and SA-11 sites to minimal operation, Blackbird is to begin recon of Bandar Abbas airfield proper. Primary targets of concern are ammo and fuel facilities, along with AAA and SAM emplacements. Secondary target is Havadarya with the same target list. Use targeting pod to record snapshots of targets. Minimal 2 airframes, suggest Xpendable as primary as the Harrier is best suited out of our airframes.

Id really like to take a SEAD mission if possible. It was a rough outing last time and I need to settle a score.

I was getting sidetracked on aerial targets that popped up made things a bit challenging but I guess that the name of the game.

Might I recommend all carrier assets fly to Kasab to group up with everyone and we all leave at our set intervals from there? Top up on fuel also.(and we can get a group screenshot maybe??)

We would have done a lot better had I not been making procedural errors in dropping my bombs. I've discovered what the issue was and fixed the problem. I'm not hitting targets again with the sort of accuracy I would expect. Of course, I'm happy to do SEAD with Xpen doing the heavy lifting. That's fine. But, I'm also confident now in my JSOW A and GBU usage. Shouldn't be a problem Wednesday night. Trichome and I should be able to do well so long as we don't have to tangle with the bandits too much.

I have set up pre-planned targets for DEAD in the mission. I know the Harrier and Thunder can just load them with their respective procedures.

Can the Hornet load pre-planned target points set up in the mission editor? The Falcon?

If nothing else, you will see them on the F10 map and can use those markers.

BTW, someone asked for Falcon's at Khasab (I think Mason), so check Khasab for a flight.

Hi Hammer,

Yes, you can use the mission editor to program the Hornet with pre-briefed waypoints that the pilot can then use for Weapon designation. Alternatively, and much easier for you, a player can go to the F-10 map, I mean the Intel officer aboard ship and receive a briefing in the squadron room, ahem, and get the necessary data to create his or her own target way points or simply program the coordinates into weapon itself, JDAM's, SLAMMERS, et al.

I'll be doing SEAD tonight. Just as an FYI, Jedi will not be online tonight for flying.

This sounds awesome, unfortunately, there's a high chance I will not be able to fly or GCI tonight as both of my softball-playing daughters have games tonight. One starts at 5:30 CDT and 1 starting at 7:30 CDT, and both will go for probably 2 hours each. And of course they are at opposite sides of town. If I get "selected" to take the 7:30 game, then I'm out for the night. if I get selected to take the older daughter to the earlier game, then I have a chance of making the mission. Unfortunately, I don't know yet what I'm doing, as there is also a niece graduating middle school tonight and my wife may ask me to do the later game so she can attend the graduation. Ugh.

I can bring a Tomcat with 2 Phoenix, 1 Sparrow, and 2 Sidewinders and escort the strike/recon package. I can bring 2 TALDs to decoy the SAMs to get them to light up for the SEAD/DEAD guys. If you guys don't mind the long range kill ability to go down to medium range, I can ditch all the Phoenix and carry 4 TALDs.

Afterwards, I can assist with the recon with photos with the LANTIRN. The TARPS pod would be way better, but Fleet hasn't been able to procure the funding to send us pods and the personnel to wire up a bird for it yet. Hopefully in the near future.

Now that I've figured out what I was doing wrong last week, my plan is to do SEAD tonight, hopefully with Bones and Trichome and Panzer. But, if I'm needed in another role, let me know.

I took out a few of the radars and launchers but man that SA-2 is nasty.
