I'm currently working on a balsa wood model of a Cessna 170. Actually flies, can even take a gas engine! Wingspan: 24"

Will post pics as I progress with it.

Good for you mate. Hope you get it finished. I have a 1/36th scale model of the NAW A10A-2. There was only ever one built, to investigate the potential of a Night / Adverse weather modification to the A-10 fleet. It now stands like a quiet giant rotting away at Edwards AFB somewhere in the desert. :(
I have never managed to get started with the model, and am reluctant too, because we are always moving at the moment, and it would simply end-up broken. And that would be pointless, eh?

I don't think you have met him, but a WOF member "Hades" is working on a P-47 model plane. Maybe he will see this thread and post some of his pics here. He has done a LOT of work on it so far. I aplaud him for all his hard work, and the time and patience it must take to complete such a task.

My only problem with getting into something that takes so long, costs so much, would be crashing. My first crash would be the end of my scale modeling career.

Speaking of Hades, I saw he was on ICQ either last week or over the weekend... Wonder if he is checking in here???

I talk to him 2 to 3 times a week on ICQ, sometimes less. I'll tell him to stop by here next time I see him. He has a job now, so he has less time to play.

A job - can't say I'm too familiar with that concept right now. Not that I care to be either, it'll be a part of my life again soon enough. But I understand his work commitments taking him away from his little passions in life, just the way it is I guess, eh?

I know about Hades, you told me yourself. When I first hit him up on ICQ, he gave the web address with his pics. I like what he's done so far with his Thunderbolt. Are we permitted to call it a Hog Mk. 1?

Whats up lads long time no see here is some of the pics of the thunderbolt
the pictures is old but since i dont own a web cam my self theyre the only one i got on the jug

Thanks for the kind words about the jug guys i apriciate it.
ANd hammer goodluck with that Cessna.

i have been building the plane since mars/april but i have had pauses with the building time to time cause the lack of founds (i was unemployed) now i got a job and im back on track :)

THe jug is scale 1/7 - 1/8, if i remeber correctly its 63" wingspan,
its gonna be fitted with a 4 stroke 20cc engine i bought a used one from a friend cheap but im not really happy with that engine so i gonna buy a new one cause with the jug that causes alot of drag and its a heavy plane i dont want a deadstick cause then it will be hard to reach the runway with out stalling and loosing the bird,

im installing pnumatic retracks and flaps on this machine i already bought a cockpit for it also.

if you lads have any questions i will be more then happy to answer them :)
