The actual peripherals are pricey. But if you're handy, you could fashion something from tubing used to create exercise equipment. Buy and old bucket car seat and voila. I'm seriously considering doing something like this if we ever buy a house. I'm tired of playing on a butcher block kitchen table and using this crappy, unstable desk chair.

if you have the space for it, costco currently has a DPS gaming chair for about $160 or so. It is actually not bad at all, especially for the money. it is lacking a tilt lock (it only locks all the way back and forward).
